Peter Cooper, a famous musician and writer, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, at the age of 52. He died of traumatic brain injury in a car crash last week. His family announced the news on social media, saying that he died in his sleep:
“We are so grateful for your warm comments and prayers over the past few days. Please know that they have brought Peter and us much comfort. We will soon announce details regarding the longevity celebration in early 2023.”
Peter shows no signs of recovering from the tragedy. However, the visitor said he reciprocated the care he received. In lieu of flowers, Cooper’s friends can donate to the Baker Cooper Foundation. Funds raised will be donated to the Museum and Hall of Fame Museum and used to help Cooper’s children continue their education.
Very sad to hear that my friend Peter Cooper has passed away@ country music. Peter opened concerts for me in the early 2000s. He was a great journalist, singer and songwriter. One of my biggest supporters ever. Peter will be very missed. https://t.co/Je62kwCMME

Before entering the music world, Peter Cooper studied journalism.
Although Peter Cooper’s exact date of birth is uncertain, he was born in South Carolina and attended school in Washington, DC. He started his career as a journalist before deciding to pursue a career in music. Until 2014, Peter handled everything related to the music business for the Tennessee newspaper. His superiors and colleagues like his writing style. He was later recognized for his work at the Country Music Hall of Fame, where he worked in various departments and actively participated in their events.
He has worked with various musicians and released albums such as The Lloyd Green Album, The Master Sessions and others as a musician. The albums received an excellent response from critics and fans. He became famous after collaborating on two albums with Eric Brace. Cooper graduated from the Damn Tom T. Hall School of Songwriting with a Mission Door degree. After leaving his job as a journalist in Tennessee, he joined Todd Snider’s band, and the band played several times. He had a short writing career, publishing Johnny’s Cash & Charley’s Pride: Lasting Legends and Untold Adventures in Country Music. Bob Edwards considers Cooper a kind of modern renaissance.
Nashville Arts & Entertainment magazine named him one of the Ten Most Interesting People. Peter Cooper has performed as a solo artist and with his band around the world. He has also served as a senior music reporter for Nashville’s The Tennessean and a senior professor at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. Although he is a celebrity, he does not have a Wikipedia page so there is not much information about his career. Survivors include ex-wife Charlotte, father Wiley Cooper, stepfather Al Smuzynski, stepmother Emily Cooper, brother Chris Cooper, sister-in-law Jessie Swigger, nephew Jack Cooper and niece Madeline Cooper.
