Career

During his time in college, Pawandeep Rajan read an advertisement about the auditions for the singing reality TV show ‘The Voice India’ in 2015. He got selected and won the show. He received the winning award along with a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs, an Alto K10 car, and a contract to release his first song with Universal Music Group. After winning the show, Pawandeep Rajan released his debut single ‘Yakeen’ with the Universal Music Group in 2015. During this time, he was appointed as the Youth Brand Ambassador of Uttarakhand. In 2016, Pawandeep collaborated with Aaron Haroon Rashid to work on his album ‘Chholiyar’ and sang two songs for the album. Pawandeep also did a romantic song for the movie ‘Romeo N Bullet’ in 2017. Pawandeep has also done several shows in India and in Dubai.

On 15 August 2021, in the grand finale event of Indian Idol 12, he was declared the winner of the show. Apart from lifting the trophy, he was also awarded a car and a cheque of INR 25 lakh. Rajan was among the six finalists who reached the grand finale. After becoming the winner of the show, Rajan confessed that he was feeling low since he felt everyone deserved to win. An emotional Rajan said,

I did not think much during the final moments. There was only one thing in my mind that whoever wins the show, the trophy will come to one of the friends. Because we all are one big family. In fact, when I got the trophy I was not feeling very great because all of us were deserving. We all have planned to work together in future and we will be in contact with each other even after the show.”
