Pauly Shore reacts to Richard Simmons’ disapproval of new biopic

Pauly Shore speaks out after Richard Simmons criticized her new movie.

Earlier this week, new photos and a trailer for the upcoming short film. The court jester in which Pauly, 55, plays the 75-year-old fitness guru.

After the press material was published, Richard issued a statement saying he does not support the project.

“Hi everyone! You may have heard that they may be making a movie about me with Pauly Shore,” Richard wrote on Facebook on Wednesday (Jan. 17). “I have never given my permission for this movie. So no believe everything you read.”

He continued: “I no longer have a manager and I no longer have a publicist. I just try to live a quiet life and be at peace. Thank you for all your love and support.”

Arriving in Salt Lake City on Thursday (January 18) to promote the new film at the Sundance Film Festival 2024Pauly reacted to Richard’s comments.

“Every day is a different day and you never know what he’s going to say the next day,” Pauly said. TMZ with a laugh.

When asked what he would say to fans who don’t think the movie should be made without Richard’s blessing, Pauly responded: “Well, if you know anything about me, I don’t come from a vengeful place. “I’ve never gotten out of that.”

“So I guess my attitude is if you build it, they will come, so I hope that once he sees the short, sees what we’re trying to do with it, he changes his tune,” Pauly continued. .

And he added: “I love him. I love what it represents, that’s why we want to do it. You know, he is a great character and it is a good opportunity for me to get back out there as well.”

There is also another Richard Simmons biopic in the works with Pauly once again playing him.
