Inappropriate remarks regarding an actress
In 2015, during an episode of Bengali filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee’s reality show, Parambrata Chatterjee inadvertently got involved in controversy due to comments made by his co-guest, actor Rudranil Ghosh. While interacting with the host, Ghosh said that both the actors were romantically linked with the same girl. He went even further, and made an inappropriate and derogatory comment with a sexual connotation, describing the girl as a ‘playground’ where he would ‘play’ in the morning, and Parambrata would ‘play’ in the evening. The concerned girl responded by filing a defamation suit against both the actors. However, some media reports dismissed the incident as a ‘bad publicity stunt by the producers’.
Faced criticism for misrepresentation of original events
In the 2022 Bengali film ‘Abhijan’, Paulami Bose accused director Parambrata of distorting real events, ignoring important people and aspects of her life, and including her son’s accident in the film without her consent. Parambrata countered by saying that the portrayals were approved by the actor involved.
