‘Outer Banks’ star Austin North arrested for allegedly attacking hospital staff

The television show Outer Banks has won several awards over the past four years. This includes a People’s Choice Award in 2020. Naturally, the show has gained a lot of popularity. But one of the cast members doesn’t seem to be adjusting well to fame.

Austin North, who plays Topper on the hit series, had an episode last week in which he allegedly assaulted several emergency room employees at a Las Vegas hospital. The news was reported by TMZ.

“Austin North went crazy at a Las Vegas hospital this week: he attacked several emergency room staff and had to be restrained… so I called the cops anyway,” TMZ wrote.

“According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, officers were dispatched to UMC Hospital on Tuesday night for reports of an assault and battery that had occurred in the emergency room… and when they arrived, cops say they interviewed the alleged victims”.

TMZ also spoke to nurses at the hospital and a phlebotomist. They were all present during North’s spree. They said the episode “came out of nowhere” and the actor became very violent.

“According to a couple of nurses and a phlebotomist, the actor was throwing fists and pushing the three of them one after the other. For no apparent reason,” TMZ said.

“He allegedly punched a nurse in the head, pushed another nurse in the face, and pushed the phlebotomist into a table, only for the latter alleged victim to use a nearby tray to hit him in the head in self-defense.”

“They finally handcuffed him to a stretcher there at the hospital. The cops who arrived to deal with this say they read Austin his Miranda rights when they told him they were arresting him for assault,” TMZ added.

“They took him to jail. And he was booked on gross misdemeanor battery…and he posed for this mug shot. “Austin has since broken free.”
