Oprah Shares Her Opinion on the Ozempic Weight-Loss Drug Fad: ‘That’s the Easy Way Out’

Oprah is talking about the ozempic fashion.

The 69-year-old talk show host recently appeared on The Life You Want Class: The State of Weight panel with obesity specialists Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford and Dr. Melanie Jay, as well as psychologist Dr. Rachel Goldman .

During the panel, she discussed the media’s treatment of her weight throughout her career, as well as the recent popularity of weight-loss medications.

“Shouldn’t we all be more accepting of whatever body you choose to have?” Oprah asked at one point.

“That should be your choice… Even when I started hearing about weight-loss medications, at the same time I was having knee surgery, I felt, ‘I have to do this on my own.’ Because if I take the medicine, that’s the easy way out,’” she continued, according to People.

She also recalled being “shamed in the tabloids every week for 25 years” for not “having the willpower” to lose weight.

Ozempic is a once-weekly injectable medication formulated to help adults with type 2 diabetes control their blood sugar.

Several celebrities have denied taking the drug, while others have been open about their use of Ozempic.
