Novak Djokovic just won the US Open 2023.
The 36-year-old Serbian tennis player defeated Daniil Medvedev to win the men’s final match on Sunday (September 10) at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.
Novak just extended his record of Grand Slam singles titles to 24 and celebrated the moment by paying tribute to his late friend Kobe Bryant, who wore the number 24 while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Novak won the match in three straight sets, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3. He now equals Margaret Court’s record for most Grand Slam titles of all time and is just one title away from reaching the record.
In a recent interview, Novak spoke of his “zero regrets” for missing the US tournaments due to his refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
