On 5 December 2023, Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS) President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot dead by three unidentified assailants inside his office-cum-residence in Jaipur’s Shyam Nagar. Despite being taken to Metro Mass Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and died. Following the attack, wanted criminal Rohit Godara Kapurisar openly claimed responsibility for Gogamedi’s murder through a Facebook post, which read,
Ram Ram to all the brothers, me Rohit Godara Kapoorisar, Goldie Brar. Brothers, today Sukhdev Gogamedi was murdered. We take full responsibility for this. It is we who have committed this murder. Brothers, I want to tell you that he supported our enemies. Used to strengthen them. As far as enemies are concerned, they should keep their bier ready at the door of their house. Will meet him soon too.

Notably, Godara had earlier claimed responsibility for the murder of another gangster Raju Thehat in Sikar, Rajasthan. Godara is linked to Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar gang who are infamous for planning the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and issuing death threats to Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan. According to the Facebook post, Godara killed Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi because Sukhdev had supported his enemies.

Gogamedi’s murder was captured on CCTV cameras, which showed two men firing multiple bullets at him. Jaipur (South) Deputy Commissioner of Police Yogesh Goyal revealed that the two attackers have been identified as Rohit Rathod Makrana from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Mahendragarh, Haryana. Meanwhile, some media houses reported that the two attackers have been identified as Rohit Singh Shekhawat and Nitin Fauji.

In retaliatory firing, Ajit Singh (also known as Ajit Singh), a security guard from Gogamedi, was seriously injured, and Naveen Singh Shekhawat, one of the attackers, was killed. The other two attackers immediately fled from the scene. It is said that Naveen Singh was acquainted with Shekhawat Gogamedi. At around 1 o’clock in the afternoon, he took the attackers in his car and brought them to his house in Gogamedi. At first, the guards at the gate stopped the car and refused to let them in, but then Naveen called Gogamedi, who instructed his staff to send the three to the room where he regularly meets his officials and Used to meet supporters. During the investigation, Nitin Fauji’s family claimed that they had not had any contact with him in the last few weeks. Nitin’s father said that Nitin had gone to get his car repaired on November 9 and since then there has been no trace of him. Meanwhile, Nitin’s classmates and villagers were surprised by his involvement in the incident and said that he was a good student.
