Facts/General Knowledge

  • When he was in school, he loved watching plays and often wondered how actors could make them more impressive. One day, when he was in college, an audition was announced for those who wanted to act. One of his friends asked him to accompany him to the audition. The casting team chose him because of his voice. He asked them to read a short news segment lasting 20 seconds in the play. Interestingly, famous lyricist Irshad Kamil, who was also his fellow student, was also a part of this play. One of his classmates, who had a lead role in a play, had to go away to apply for further studies. She was asked to fill in as a proxy for her classmate. Eventually, his classmate went to college in Russia. He played the lead role and the play won several awards. After that, he continued to participate in more plays during his college days.
  • In an interview, Nisar Khan told that his role as a police officer in Crime Patrol became so popular that people started recognizing him as a real police officer. While sharing an anecdote he said,

A man asked me to help him vacate his shop from a man with a difficult possession. A woman came home and asked me to convince her alcoholic husband to give up drinking. I told him I ‘act’ like a policeman, I’m not. She still insisted that I talk to her husband. Then, once we were shooting in Jaipur, when a real policeman came to me and said, “Because of the show we have started enjoying respect in the society. People now believe that there are honest policemen too. You are just like Arun Govil (Ramayan) was – an icon!”

  • In his free time, he likes reading books and traveling to different places.
