One of his friends asked him to accompany him to the audition. The casting team chose him because of his voice. He asked them to read a short news segment lasting 20 seconds in the play. Interestingly, famous lyricist Irshad Kamil, who was also his fellow student, was also a part of this play. A man asked me to help him vacate his shop from a man with a difficult possession. A woman came home and asked me to convince her alcoholic husband to give up drinking. I told him I ‘act’ like a policeman, I’m not. She still insisted that I talk to her husband. Then, once we were shooting in Jaipur, when a real policeman came to me and said, “Because of the show we have started enjoying respect in the society. People now believe that there are honest policemen too. You are just like Arun Govil (Ramayan) was – an icon!”
