Nirav Modi is a 46 years old man who was born in Antwerp, Belgium, Europe. He currently resides in Mumbai, India. He was very interested in designing since childhood. He runs his own diamond jewelery business and sells his products in different countries. He also launched his brand Nirav Modi in various places like Mumbai, Delhi, Hong Kong, New York, Macau and London.

He belongs to a Gujarati family. Her father Deepak Keshavlal Modi is also a diamond jeweler, and her mother is an interior designer. He follows Jainism. He has a brother Nishal Modi. livelihood
After schooling, Nirav Modi started studying at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA, but he left college and moved to India where he joined his maternal uncle Mehul Choksi’s company and worked there for about ten years. In 1999, he founded his own diamond jewelery firm, Firestar Diamond International. After some time, he designed an earring pair as per his friend’s request. He then turned his passion into a brand, which he named Nirav Modi.
She has designed many unique patterns like Riviere of Perfection, Golconda Lotus Necklace, etc. which make her brand so popular. Her Golconda Lotus Necklace was sold at a Christie’s Hong Kong auction in 2010 for Rs. 16.29 crore and his Riviere of Perfection was sold at Sotheby’s Hong Kong auction in 2012.

Controversy
In February 2018, Punjab National Bank (PNB) filed a complaint against him alleging that he owed the bank approximately Rs. 11, 400 crores. According to reports, his wife Ami Modi, uncle Mehul Choksi and brother Nishal Modi are also involved in this fraud case. The bank also claimed that they were involved in a fraud in the issuance of bank guarantees or Letters of Undertakings (LoUs) at the bank’s mid corporate branch in Brady House, Mumbai. The Enforcement Directorate handles this matter. The Ministry of External Affairs has also canceled his passport for four weeks.
