Nikhil K Nanda was born on Monday, 18 March 1974 (age 49 years; as in 2023) in New Delhi, India. His zodiac sign is Pisces. He did his schooling at The Doon School, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Later, he went to Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA to pursue a degree in Business Management (Finance and Marketing). In 1948, his grandfather, Har Prasad Nanda, founded a company called Escorts Agricultural Machines Limited, which sold tractors and farming equipment. Later, Har Prasad became a major player in India’s tractor market by working with American companies such as Massey Ferguson and Minneapolis Motor. In 1965, Nikhil Nanda’s father, Rajan Nanda, joined Escorts Limited and took over the reins of the company when Rajan’s father and founding chairman of Escorts Kubota Limited, Har Prasad Nanda, stepped down in 1994.

Later, he returned to India and joined Yamaha, where he worked for six years, starting from the lowest position. Nikhil Nanda was appointed as the key board member of Escorts Limited in 1997. He then became the Chief Operating Officer in October 2005, Joint Managing Director in September 2007 and finally Managing Director of Escorts Limited in September 2013. Following the death of his father Rajan Nanda in 2018, he was appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Limited.
