Nick Viall and his fiancee Natalie Joy are addressing their 18-year age difference.
The 42 year old man bachelor nation Star and Natalie, 24, first met online in late 2019 when he was 38 and she was 20.
In a new interview, Nick admitted he was a bit surprised by how young Natalie was and turned her down “so many times” before they finally started dating.

We started sending messages. [online]and I loaded it up,” Nick revealed on the Taylor Lautner and wife Tay Dome podcast. the squeeze. “I wanted to make sure he was a real person.”
“He said, ‘I want to see your ID,’” Natalie confirmed.
“Age for me was something I was aware of,” Nick added, revealing that he told Natalie from the start that they would “never date.”
Despite initial misgivings, Nick and Natalie decided to start dating in the summer of 2020 after first crossing paths online in late 2019.
“She slipped into my DMs. We texted each other for a couple of weeks. We met in New York,” Nick recalled. “I think we both thought the other person was a little crazy. We both knew we would end up spending the weekend together. I think we were both quite cautious.”
Natalie then added that she knew Nick was the one all along.
“I found out after that weekend, I thought, ‘I’m going to spend the rest of my life with this man.’ And I knew it and he didn’t,” Natalie recalled. “So I was like, ‘I’m just going to hang in there because he’s going to bounce back.’ So I asked him several times for him to go out with me.
Despite their age difference, Nick and Natalie were able to find common ground in their relationship, but Natalie revealed that she has received a lot of negativity about their relationship on social media.
“It’s definitely weird that so many people give you feedback,” Natalie said. “DMs of cruel comments about [how] I’m a ‘child bride’… terrible, terrible things people would call me.”
She continued: “I thought, I’m going to spend the rest of my life with this man, and I knew it and he didn’t, so I thought, I’m going to hang in there because he’ll come back.” .”
After officially going public with their relationship in February 2021, Nick and Natalie got engaged in January 2023.
Nick and Natalie aren’t the only celebrity couple with a huge age gap.
