Early career
At Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio, a Division III school, Nick Sirianni played wide receiver. In his second year, a calf injury and compartment syndrome nearly ended his playing career.
He finished his senior year with 998 yards and 13 touchdowns and a bachelor’s degree in education. He participated in one season of American Indoor Football League competition for the Canton Legends.

He began his coaching career as a defensive backs coach at his soul college, Mount Union. He then went on to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he coached wide receivers.
