Newcomer Kahiau Machado has been cast in the role of Nani’s love interest in the upcoming film, according to the hollywood reporter.

Kahiau joins Maia Kealoha and Sydney Agudong in the film, who will play sisters Lilo and Nani.
Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen have also been attached to the upcoming film.

The live-action movie, which will be directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, will center on Lilo, who adopts an ugly little “dog” she names Stitch. Stitch would make the perfect pet if he wasn’t actually a genetic experiment who escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith, and unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch’s heart and gives him the ability to care for another person.
Jason Scott Lee voiced David in the original animated version.
