Jessie J shares a little of her birth story with her fans, just weeks after welcoming her first child.
The 35-year-old singer and new mother shared a video on her Instagram, showing how she danced in a hospital gown just hours before her baby’s arrival.

“I spent 9 months preparing for a natural birth,” she began in the caption. “Strict diet, epi no, yoga, swimming, hypnobirthing methods. I had a tens machine, a birth comb, I wanted a pool birth, ideally without medication. BUT this was MY plan to stay disciplined and focused. “I knew very well that it could and probably would go in a completely different direction.”
Jessie went on to say that many people asked her about her birth plan and her stance remained the same: “‘I’m open to surrendering to the safest way for my baby to arrive.'”
“I had a scan a few days before 40 weeks and it was completely inside out and stuck because it was a little thicker than average and long,” she explains. “I tried my best to try to convert it for 2 months, but he said, “No, Mom, I want to make an entrance through the roof, not the front door.”
Then Jessie “was recommended to have a planned cesarean section for a safer delivery. This video was taken 5 minutes before she went into surgery. “I went into active labor the night before and felt all the sensations, but most of all excitement about meeting our baby.”
“I guess I’m sharing this because so many people have said, ‘Do you feel like you missed the birth you wanted?’ I had a birth and it was everything I wanted because I got it in the end, that’s all that matters 🤍🫧.”
Following her video, Jessie also shared a sweet snap of her baby’s hand on her Story, writing “In love” right above it.
