Netflix anti-password sharing campaign leads to many new account registrations

Netflix just implemented its new password sharing rules in recent months, cracking down on sharing one account for multiple households.

While many fans may not like the new rules for the streaming service, they seem to be getting the point, leading to plenty of new account registrations.

According to a new report from measurement company Antenna, Netflix experienced a record four big days from May 23-27.

The company reports that there were close to 100,000 registrations on both the 26th and 27th.

On average, Netflix had 73,000 registered subscribers per day, Antenna says, representing an increase of about 102% from the previous 60-day average.

While there were many new registrations for the streamer during those days, there were also many cancellations. The ratio, says Antena, increased by 25.6%.
