NeNe Leakes, formerly of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, appears to be subtly shading Bethenny Frankel’s new TV show. The Real Housewives of New York City alum has been tapped to join Shark Tank‘s Kevin O’Leary for the second season of CNBC’s Money Court. Bethenny will be using her entrepreneurial skills to aid other business owners with their financial disputes. But with NeNe at war with Bravo over allegations of racial discrimination, she is seemingly bothered by her fellow OGs continuing to thrive.
In recent weeks, NeNe and Andy Cohen have touched on settling NeNe’s lawsuit against the network. The OG housewife accuses the network that helped make her a household name of behind-the-scenes racial discrimination. Kim Zolciak-Biermann was mentioned in the suit but not listed as a defendant. NeNe accuses Kim of displaying racism during the early years of RHOA that was ignored and still granted Kim a solo spin-off that lasted eight seasons. Since NeNe’s exit, she has encouraged fans to boycott the network while continuing to subliminally shade the housewives who remain in good standing with Bravo.
Bethenny hasn’t returned to RHONY since her 2019 exit. She’s maintained her business endeavors and even enjoyed a few short-lived TV shows. But she’s back and this time, she’s tapping into her businesswoman bag to help other entrepreneurs. However, Queens of Bravo captured a screenshot of a shady comment NeNe left in response to Bethenny’s new TV gig. “Am not surprised,” NeNe wrote under Bethenny’s Instagram post announcing her addition to CNBC. “Awwww,” Bethenny wrote in response to NeNe. Fans were quick to pick up the subtle shade throwing. Considering NeNe’s quarrels with Bravo, she hasn’t shown much support for her former colleagues.
When Kandi starred in her recent spin-off Kandi & The Gang, NeNe appeared to shade that series as well. Kandi expressed her issues with NeNe dissing her show and said she didn’t agree with the OG’s lawsuit against Bravo since she used to brag about being the highest-paid housewife. Now that NeNe appears to be shading Bethenny’s new show, fans think NeNe is bitter over her fallout with Bravo, whom she accuses of trying to “blacklist” her career in television. “NeNe is bitter,” one fan said. “Nene bit the hand that fed her. The Bravo door is CLOSED!” added someone else. Others defended Bethenny and noted her past guest appearances on Shark Tank as a judge. “Bethenny hustles,” one fan wrote.
It’s another instance where NeNe is calling out one of her former colleagues at Bravo. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star has had a drastic fall from grace within the housewives community since her season 12 exit. At the time, NeNe claimed she left the show due to failed contract negotiations. However, months after her departure, she launched a boycott campaign against Bravo. In 2021, NeNe expressed her openness to returning to the show. But after Andy shut that idea down, NeNe returned to bad-mouthing the network before launching her lawsuit. As they work to settle their dispute privately, NeNe continues to find ways to speak out publicly to share her gripes. Bethenny was the target this time around.
