It’s official: Nelly and Ashanti are back together!
Nelly confirmed rumors that have been circulating for months about the former couple, revealing that they have been back together for longer than fans probably thought.

During a new interview with Love and Hip HopRasheeda and Kirk Frost, via The Shade Room, the rapper talked about what brought them back together.
“Yes, we are good again,” Nelly shared when asked. “However, I think she surprised us both. “It was nothing that I don’t think was planned.”
He also talked about how since their split in 2013, time has been on their side to allow them to have a better relationship this time.
“I think we were both doing pretty much what we do, but sometimes being apart you understand each other better,” he shared. “You say, ‘Hey, let me see exactly what they see.’ You know, because we can all get defensive sometimes in our own relationships. We know we were wrong but we are going to stand firm. But we are all victims of that.”
Now, he adds, the relationship with Ashanti “feels good” and “there is no pressure. “Before, it felt like we were both doing what we were doing before as far as our careers go, and when there are so many people in the way, it can be difficult.”
Rumors that Nelly and Ashanti were back together began in April 2023, after they were spotted at a boxing match.
Most recently, they were seen singing a steamy song together.
