She came into limelight by winning the gold medal in the lawn bowls matches with three of her teammates at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England.

Nayanamoni Saikia was born on Wednesday, 21 September 1988 (age 34 years; as in 2022) in Village Tengbari, Golaghat, Assam. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. Soon after completing his schooling, he joined Golaghat Commerce College in Assam to pursue his bachelor’s degree. Nayanmoni Saikia belongs to a farmer family of Assam. In 2001, SAI Golaghat Center selected him for the sport of weightlifting through a talent scouting programme. Ajay Chetia, a weightlifting promoter in Assam, mentioned in an interview with a media house that Nayanamoni Saikia started representing Assam in lawn bowls in 2007. They said,
Before 2007, lawn bowls was unheard of in this state. When Nayanmoni saw this game, it changed her life. He took up the sport the same year and has since represented both Assam and India several times.

Nayanamoni Saikia competed in individual and team events at the National Games in 2011 and won gold medals. The following year, she participated in the Asian Lawn Bowls Championship in the girls under-25 category and won the gold medal.

In 2014, she represented India at the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, SCO and competed in the Women’s Singles and Women’s Triples Lawn Bowls Championships, where she was ranked third in the pool in both the events. Nayanamoni Saikia participated in the National Lawn Bowling Championship held in Kerala, India in 2015 and won the gold medal.

In 2018, he participated in the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Queensland. In 2020, he represented India at the South Asian Games and received a medal and cash award by the Government of India.

In the same year, he participated in the 3rd Khelo India Youth Games held in Guwahati, Assam and won the Lawn Bowls competition.

On 2 August 2022, Nayanamoni Saikia along with her teammates Lovely Chaubey, Pinky Singh and Rupa Rani Tirkey participated in the Commonwealth Games in England and won the gold medal by winning the final of lawn bowls against the South African team. They reached the final match of lawn bowls after defeating New Zealand in the semi-finals on 1 August 2022.

- In a media interview, Nayanamoni Saikia’s husband revealed that he switched from weightlifting to lawn bowls after suffering a serious leg injury. She said in the same discussion that after these injuries her performance in weightlifting began to deteriorate and she soon shifted to lawn bowls, which later became her passion. He said,
Nayanmoni was previously a very dedicated weightlifter, her entire life revolved around the sport. But due to a foot injury his performance deteriorated until he was introduced to lawn bowls. After that this became his passion. He has faced many challenges in his life, but he never gave up the game.
