Naveen Kumar Goyat was born on Monday, 14 February 2000 (age 23 years; as of 2023) in Sultanpur, Haryana, India. Their zodiac sign is Aquarius. After completing his schooling, he went to Kurukshetra University to pursue his graduation. Naveen Kumar’s grandfather, a wrestler, introduced him to the sport. Naveen Kumar was the first person from his village to become a professional athlete. In a media interview, he told that after winning his first local Kabaddi tournament, he decided to participate in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) and started gaining weight. He said,
He used to watch PKL and saw that all the players were healthy. I weighed 70 kg at that time, so they decided to double my food intake every day. I used to have one liter milk every day, they reduced it to two litres. And they filled me with almonds. I couldn’t handle it. I did it for five days and then told my parents I couldn’t do it anymore. They agreed, but only after some stomach troubles.

In Season 7, he won the Most Valuable Player award and the team finished second. Naveen became known as one of the best raiders in the league, scoring 300 points in a single season. He earned the nickname ‘Naveen Express’ for his fast raids and became the fastest player to reach 600 points in the league.

In 2022, he played for the Indian Kabaddi team in the Asian Games in Iran and won the gold medal with the team.
In the final match, India won against Iran with the score of 33-29. Naveen Kumar also participated in the 13th South Asian Games and made a Super 10 in the final against Sri Lanka. After that, he played at the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 in Busan, where he helped India win another gold medal. He was then selected for the Asian Games 2023 to be hosted by China.
