Naveen Kasturia is an Indian actor who gained immense popularity with the Hindi web series ‘TVF Pitchers’ (2015) as Naveen Bansal and ‘TVF Aspirants’ (2021) as Abhilash Sharma. He has also worked as an assistant director in a few Hindi films.

Naveen Kasturia was born on Saturday, 26 January 1985 (age 37 years; as of 2022) in Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria. When he turned one, his family moved from Nigeria to Delhi. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. He did his schooling at Birla Vidya Niketan, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi. He then pursued a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing process and automation engineering from Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi.  He used to perform and write theatre plays while he was in college. One of his theatre plays ‘Lo Kr Lo Ji Baat’ became very popular in his college.

Relationships/Affairs

In 2020, there were rumours that Naveen was dating the Indian actress Harshita Gaur. In an interview, when Harshita was asked about dating Naveen, she replied,

That’s okay, as long as people have something to talk about you. But I find it really amusing. Honestly, such link-ups don’t bother me. Naveen and I were doing a series, where the couple is madly in love and doing everything to get married and while shooting, we became really good friends. So, I think the vibe was created like that. Even today he is very special to me and I have learned a lot from him. We are still in touch as very good friends.”

Career

Theatre

In 2007, Naveen, along with his college friends, started a theatre group named ‘Right Click Entertainment.’ He wrote and directed various theatre plays for the group.

Corporate Job

After completing his engineering, in 2006, he started working at a private company Inductis, Gurgaon, as a finance analyst. He worked there for almost two years. He then applied for a job in the financial services company J.P. Morgan Chase in Mumbai. In an interview, he shared that before moving to Mumbai, his father advised him that he must have a corporate job in Mumbai before pursuing a career as a film director.

Assistant Director

While he was working at J. P. Morgan in Mumbai, he met a person who gave him a few contact numbers of Indian film production houses after which he met several film directors. Later, Naveen got an offer from Vishhesh films, and they asked him to join them as assistant-to-assistant director for the Hindi film ‘Jashnn’ (2009).

He has worked as an assistant director in a few Hindi films such as ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ (2010), ‘Shanghai’ (2012), and ‘Tigers’ (2014).

He then applied at Dharma Productions to work as an assistant director in the Hindi film ‘Agneepath’ (2012). However, he was rejected.

TV Commercials

Naveen once met the Indian film director Dibakar Banerjee, who offered Naveen a TV commercial for Coke. After featuring in the Coke ad, he appeared in TV commercials for various brands like Vodafone, Mahindra, Tapzo app, Marathe Jewellers, and True Value. As of 2022, he has been featured in more than 50 TV commercials.
