Nakul Nath is an Indian businessman, politician and member of the Indian National Congress (INC). He was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) in 2019. According to the 2023 report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), Nakul is the richest member of Parliament. He came into limelight in December 2023 when the Speaker of the Lok Sabha suspended him from Parliament.

Nakul Kamal Nath was born on Friday, 21 June 1974 (age 49 years; as of 2023) in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal, India. Their zodiac sign is Gemini. After spending some time in West Bengal, Kamal Nath moved to Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh (now in Uttarakhand), where he completed his schooling at the Doon School. Politics
Before joining the party, Nakul Nath was seen campaigning for the Indian National Congress (INC) on several occasions. Before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Nakul became a member of the party and got a ticket to contest the general elections from Chhindwara constituency. In the elections, he defeated his nearest rival, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Nathansaha Kavreti, by receiving 5,87,305 votes.

As an MP, Nath has served as a member of the Consultative Committee on Panchayati Raj, functioning under the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. On 13 September 2019, he became a member of the Standing Committee on Commerce. On 13 September 2023, Nakul became a member of the Commerce Committee of Rajya Sabha. In December 2023, Speaker of the House Om Birla suspended him from the Lok Sabha.

Controversy
Suspended from Lok Sabha
On 21 December 2023, three members of the Indian National Congress (INC), including Nakul Nath, were suspended from Parliament for violating the code of conduct due to their inappropriate behaviour. According to sources, Nakul had in early December 2023 protested against the suspension of over a hundred MPs who had raised questions about security violations in Parliament, including some youths firing tear gas in Parliament. During his protest, Nakul raised slogans in Parliament and did not stop despite being warned by the Lok Sabha Speaker to desist from doing so. Later, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi presented the suspension motion in Parliament and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla accepted it. Joshi said in the proposal,
This House has taken serious note of the misconduct of Deepak Baij, DK Suresh and Nakul Nath. He grossly disregarded the authority of the House and the Speaker. He showed the placards and came to the well of the House. For this reason he is being suspended from the House. Earlier in the day, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had warned the three MPs against protesting in the House.
