Naganathan Pandi was born on Tuesday, 23 April 1996 (age 26 years; as of 2022) in Singapuli Patti village in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, India. His zodiac sign is Taurus. He did his schooling from KN High School in Kamuthi, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. He used to participate in 1500 meter race during his school days; However, since he was from a poor home, he did not own a pair of shoes. He ran barefoot and worked as a construction worker on weekends and holidays to help his family financially. Naganathan used to participate in various competitions during his college days and during one of them, he even ran 400 meters in about 49 seconds. He participated in the All India University Athletic Competition in Bengaluru, Karnataka, which made him eligible to apply for state government jobs under the sports quota. After qualifying the entrance exam he joined Tamil Nadu Police as an Armed Reserve Constable in 2017 and was posted in Chennai. He used to complete his duties during the day and train in the morning and evening. He won a gold medal in the State Police Meet in the 2018-2019 season and won a gold medal in the 400m and 4 X 400m relay races at the All India Police Meet held in Chandigarh in March 2020. Later he won the CM Trophy at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. She won gold medals at the Indian Grand Prix 1 held at Patiala in January 2021 and the Tamil Nadu State Meet held at Sivakasi in February 2021.
