New leaks suggest Dead by Daylight Chapter 25 will revolve around a second Resident Evil crossover. This supposed leak follows on the heels of another wherein legitimate-looking screenshots seemingly outed Dead by Daylight’s sixth anniversary content, which will apparently include Haddie Kaur as a new Survivor and a creature named The Dredge as the upcoming Killer. Despite scheduling a sixth anniversary stream for May 17, developer Behaviour Interactive has yet to confirm any of the above claims.
As many may recall, the Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil brands crossed paths previously and on more than one occasion. The likes of Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Nemesis entered the haunted world of Dead by Daylight in May 2021 as a celebration of Resident Evil’s 25th anniversary. Notably, the celebration continued in October upon the release of new skins for all three of the aforementioned characters. The two horror franchises teamed up once more during the holiday season for ugly Christmas sweater content inspired by Resident Evil. It seems Behaviour Interactive and Capcom are not yet finished with conducting business.
According to Reddit user The Trickster, the same leaker responsible for the recent Haddie Kaur and Dredge leaks has shared premature details about yet another forthcoming Dead by Daylight update. Chapter 25, set to launch after The Dredge’s supposed appearance in Chapter 24, will serve as a second crossover starring Resident Evil characters. The latest uncorroborated rumor claims Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers will both join the new Resident Evil Chapter as Survivors, with Albert Weaker on track to debut as a Killer. Allegedly, players can expect Chapter 26 to feature another Behaviour-created Dead by Daylight Survivor and a Killer simply known as Knight.
Unlike the aforementioned sixth anniversary details, the rumors surrounding Dead by Daylight’s Chapter 25 do not include screenshots at the time of writing. As such, the above information bears no substantiation by any measure. And since Behaviour Interactive will first need to lift the lid on Chapter 24’s content, it could take some time for the alleged Resident Evil leak to receive confirmation.
Resident Evil counts among the many Dead by Daylight brand crossovers that Behaviour previously hosted in-game. In the past, the asymmetrical multiplayer title has invited horror icons such as Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and Scream’s Ghost Face to join the fun. Other gaming properties like Silent Hill have similarly received DBD content, with Cheryl Mason, Pyramid Head, and James Sunderland entering the mix in the last couple of years.
Dead by Daylight is available on all platforms.
