Mohan Joshi was born on Tuesday, 4 September 1945 (age 74 years; as in 2020), in Bangalore (Kingdom of Mysore, British India). His zodiac sign is Virgo. After completing his schooling from Pune, he joined the Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Pune to complete his graduation in commerce.

Mohan Sirish Joshi or Mohan Joshi was born in a lower-middle-class family in Bangalore. His father worked in the Indian Army. His mother’s name is Maher Joshi who hails from Nagpur. Mohan has two brothers. He got married at an early age. His wife’s name is Jyoti Joshi, and the couple is blessed with a son, Rohan Joshi.

Career

In 1969, he started acting in theatre plays in Pune. He got noticed through the theatre play ‘Kuryat Sada Tingalam.’

He has acted in more than 8000 stage shows and 30 theatre plays. Some of his popular theatre plays are Aasu Ani Hasu, Gadvach Lagna, God Gulabi, Goshta Janmantarichi, Kalam 302, Mi Revati Deshpande, Tarun Turk Mhatare Ark, Double Cross, and Aaranyak.

Controversy

In 2013, Mohan Joshi and actor Chetan Dalvi were beaten by the locals of Nashik for misbehaving after being drunk. The next day of this whole scene, Mohan Joshi resigned from the position of the President of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad.

  • He was born in Bangalore and lived there for 7 years. He then shifted to Pune and completed his studies.
  • After completing his graduation, he continued acting in theatre plays and started a job at Kirloskar Group in Pune, simultaneously. Later, he quit his job and started his own transportation company and worked as a truck driver for almost eight years. Once, one of the cars of his transportation company met with an accident, he got disturbed with it and decided to shut down the business.

  • In an interview, when he was asked about working in Bollywood, he said,

I’ve stopped working in Hindi films. Bollywood is full of relatives today. Too many novices are acting in Hindi films. There are so many groups and camps. There is no place there for actors like me who do not belong to any group. Besides, these days the hero also plays the villain’s role, so there is no work for us. I’ve acted in many Bhojpuri films. I find the language extremely sweet, and enjoy working in Bhojpuri films.”
