Michael Shannon could have been part of the Star Wars universe.
The 48-year-old The Flash movie actor spoke about the opportunity during an interview with Empire Magazine.
Michael has spoken before about the offer, but this time around, revealed his reasons why he declined a role in the popular film franchise.

Michael told the magazine that he’s “always a bit wary about those giant movies.”
“Because they take a lot of time and I don’t find them very stimulating to work on,” he reasoned. “I don’t ever want to get stuck in a franchise. I don’t find them interesting and I don’t want to perpetuate them.”
Michael added that if he’s “making something, I want there to be some kind of purpose to it — I don’t want to make mindless entertainment. The world doesn’t need more mindless entertainment. We’re inundated with it.”
Despite his comments on film franchises, Michael says that playing General Zod in a DC Universe film (Man of Steel and now The Flash), was “different”, because Man of Steel was a “very relevant story” at the time.
