Michael Caine announces his retirement from acting

Michael Caine is ready to quit acting.

In an interview published on Saturday (October 14), Michael told BBC Radio 4: “I keep saying I’m going to retire. Well, now I am.”

He continued, “I figured I had a movie that I played the lead role in and it got amazing reviews. The only roles I’m likely to get now will be old guys, and I thought, well, I might as well go with all this. What do I have to do to overcome this?

As things stand, Michael’s last film will be The great escaperwhich was released on October 6.

Michael is widely considered an acting legend, having won two Academy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards since the beginning of his career in the 1950s.
