The new movie Are you there God? it’s me, daisy hits theaters this weekend and we caught up with rising star Abby Ryder Fortson to learn more about her.
Abby plays the title role in the big screen adaptation of Judy Blume’s classic novel.
11-year-old Margaret is ripped from her life in New York City through suburban New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends at a new school. She confides in her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who is not happy that they have moved and likes to remind them every chance she gets.
Abby was previously seen as Cassie Lang in the first two Ant Man movies and as Sophie Pierson in the HBO series Union.

- I am a huge reader and love to read all kinds of books, from science fiction to contemporary, critical thinking essays, poetry, and old gothic literature. I also love writing all my books.
- I have been surfing practically since I could walk and I love the water, my parents even used to call me a mermaid because I loved the ocean so much. My dad taught me all things surfing and we both shared a dream of surfing at Kelly Slater’s surf ranch.
- I love to write and have been jotting down stories since third grade when I wrote an 80 page book on dragons. Today, however, I have left the dragons behind and am now working on some scripts.
- In fact, I name my plants, I have about 15 in my room, and I refer to them as my children. I don’t pick favorites, but I really love Steve, my little golden pothos plant.
- I’ve been playing guitar and piano for years and love teaching myself riffs to old metal songs on my electric Fender Stratocaster.

- I have a dog named Thomas that I adopted through Maeday Rescue and I love him very much.
- I’m a huge fan of 70’s and 80’s music, I love bands like Mott the Hoople, Metallica, Black Sabbath and I’ll always love good old Bowie. I have been building my vinyl record collection for a few years and now have most of my favorite albums!
