  1. I am an Eagle Scout. We will camp! But somewhere without mosquitoes. Mosquitoes love me.
  2. I have a scar from the Rose Bowl! Apparently, I was squirming in my mom’s arms at our first (and last) soccer game and hit the chair in front of us. I went to the emergency room two more times as a child due to head injuries. It’s a wonder he has a solo exhibition memorized there.
  3. I graduated from high school at the age of 16. I didn’t get my driver’s license until after I graduated!
  4. When I was in high school, I voluntarily underwent conversion therapy. I do not recommend it. I recommend therapy-therapy.
  5. I worked as a bartender and bartender for over seven years in New York City, even after appearing on a TV show.

Head inside to read the rest of the fun facts…

  1. I can’t stand spicy food. My ancestors are very ashamed of me.
  2. I am lactose intolerant. I learned this when I was studying in London and kept getting intense stomach pains and cramps after drinking tea. An Asian American classmate suggested I stop putting milk in my tea, and I’ve missed ice cream and brie ever since.
  3. I made my writing debut with “ONCE UPON A (korean) TIME” in fall 2022 with Ma-Yi Theater Company in New York City. I thought it was the most difficult artistic thing I had ever done… until I started working on this one-person piece!
  4. I have recorded ten audiobooks. As the only child of a single mother who couldn’t afford cable TV, library books were my refuge growing up. I never imagined I would get paid to read! But I’ve never dubbed a TV show. My new bucket list goal is to dub a Korean drama.
  5. I laugh very hard. I have been shushed several times for laughing too loudly in the theater. But the actors never complain. I just can’t surprise my friends when I attend their shows. They know I’m there when they hear me howling in the audience.
