In an Instagram post on Friday, December 15, Bialik revealed that as the holidays begin in Hollywood, he had some Danger! news. “Sony has informed me that it will no longer host the syndicated version of Danger!” she wrote. “I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a Primetime Emmy for hosting this year and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Danger! family.”
Mayim Bialik thanked those who supported her through their Danger! journey. “To the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s favorite quiz show, thank you.”
PEOPLE reports that Bialik’s contract had not ended at the time of Sony’s decision to remove her as Danger! host. In 2021, she and co-host/Danger! Champion Ken Jennings took over after the death of Alex Trebek in 2020.
In May 2022, Mayim Bialik took over as danger full-time host after Jenning had to take a hiatus. She returned the following month. During her time as a presenter, Danger! Fans had criticized his approach. “I prefer Ken, but Mayim does an adequate job,” said one fan. wrote at X in 2022. “It’s the game that matters, not the host.”

Bialik stated that one of the most common comments he received from Danger! Fans didn’t prefer her to Ken Jennings. He would also receive ambiguous comments. “Like, ‘I saw you in a magazine.’ He was very confused. You looked pretty,’” he said. “I understand it very much.”

Although she had become Danger! host, neither Bialik nor Jennings were the show’s first choice to replace Trebek. The show originally tapped executive producer Mike Richards to take over as permanent host. However, he was quickly removed from office when controversial comments and alleged past behavior resurfaced.
