Days after Taylor Swift’s release of The Tortured Poets Department, Matty Healy’s aunt stepped forward to hint at “what happened” between him and Taylor.
Following her breakup with longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn, Taylor briefly dated Matty in the spring of last year. However, the two have apparently been on and off for the past decade, and have sometimes rekindled their relationships.
However, fans believe that Taylor wrote quite a few songs about him on her new album. That is to say, “The Littlest Man Who Ever Lived” paints a (not so pretty) picture of Matty, hinting at his drug use, his controversial history, and his betrayal.

When asked how she thought Matty would react to Taylor’s new album, Debbie, who spoke with daily mailHe said that “nothing surprises [Matty] not anymore.”
“You won’t be surprised by the song,” he revealed. “He and she know what happened.”
Additionally, Debbie, Matty’s mother’s sister, added: “[Taylor] You write about all your relationships, right? “I don’t think this surprises you at all.”
However, “as my nephew, we know a little more about what happened than what has appeared in the press.” He then added that he is “very happy” in his current relationship, which is where he will likely focus his energy now.
Debbie didn’t share any more details about Taylor and Matty’s relationship, but she did hint that he was staying quiet out of respect for Taylor and their relationship. In other words, he has his own version of the story.
