Central Perk’s first permanent coffee shop opened its doors on November 14.

Central Perk Coffeehouse, the once-fictional cafe frequented by Monica, Chandler, and their friends in Friends, has come to life. The cafe opened its doors in Boston on November 14.

As reported by People, the café inspired by the NBC series starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc, is the first permanent location serving coffee and light fare. Previously, there was a temporary location of the cafe in New York in 2014 to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.

Central Perk pushed back its original opening date after Perry’s death on October 28 and opted to honor the late actor on its new opening day.

The store includes many memorabilia from iconic moments of Friends. However, the cafeteria is not intended to be a replica of the show’s original set.

When customers enter the store, they are greeted with a photograph of the floor-to-ceiling fountain from the Friends opening sequences. A private seating area with a sofa, chairs and bright orange walls invites guests to feel comfortable. The store’s outdoor seating area features green Central Perk umbrellas with the brand’s new logo. Inside the store, a door has a golden chicken and duck. The image refers to the feathered friends owned by Chandler and Joey.

Additionally, pop artist Burton Morris created a piece for the store: an oversized image depicting a cup and saucer. Morris, known for his graphic and distinctive style, created art for the original. Friends place.

In another seating area, a photograph of the original set is displayed in black and white, which calls to Friends’ past. Coben explains: “The historical elements are black and white.”
