Cinco de Mayo, Mexico’s Independence Day, is next weekend. And although the official holiday isn’t until Sunday, some people are already getting a head start on the festivities. Famous actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila are already getting into action.
The couple owns a tequila brand called Pants. So, as part of a promotion for the upcoming holidays, the McConaugheys played pickleball. But they went pantsless in the commercial.
“In honor of Cinco de Mayo and the brand’s pickle margarita cocktail, the couple can be seen playing a game of pickleball without pants,” PEOPLE wrote.

Matthew and Camila launched their tequila company in October 2023. In a statement to PEOPLE, they said their goal was to promote the “fun” part of being tequila drinkers.
“We value our tequila, not our pants. With tequila’s explosion in popularity, there’s a level of smugness that has crept into the category. Now people talk about tequila like they talk about wine. “While we are all passionate about tequila, we wanted to remind people that above all else, it should be fun,” they said.
“That’s where the name Pants comes from and that’s why you won’t see us wearing any.”

Kevin Durant invests in Pickleball team
In fact, tequila is a product that is on the rise. But so is pickleball. For this reason, multiple celebrities have begun to invest in it. One of those celebrities is NBA superstar Kevin Durant. He and his agency 35 Ventures recently invested in a Major League Pickleball expansion team.
“35V is committed to investing in the future of sports and emerging opportunities, and Major League Pickleball is a league we are extremely excited about,” Durant partner Rich Kleiman said in a statement.
“We look forward to building this team from the ground up and working to elevate the sport and the league to unprecedented heights. As an avid pickleball player and fan, interest in the sport came naturally.”
