Martin Scorsese responds to criticism of Brendan Fraser’s performance in ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’

Brendan Fraser’s first role since winning Best Actor at the 2023 Academy Awards has received mixed reviews. However, director Martin Scorsese disagrees with critics of him.

The 54-year-old actor appears in Martin’s star-studded new film Flower Moon Killers.

Some feel his approach to the role was not up to par. At a recent press conference, Martin responded.

“We thought he would be a great lawyer and I have admired his work over the years,” he said via LAD Bible. “In fact, he was I think for a couple of weeks on the film, particularly when it was our last session. We had a great time working together, especially with Leo. [DiCaprio]. Particularly in the scene where he says, ‘They’re putting a noose around your neck, it’s saving you, silly boy.’”

Martin continued, recalling: “Really for us, when we heard that… it brought the whole scene down for Leo. He was perfect.”

“And he had that girth. He is big in the box at that time. “He is a wonderful actor and it was fantastic to work with him,” added the director.

Brendan spoke about casting as an Oscar winner earlier this year.
