In 2017, Kove acknowledged his connection to Scavo by taking her to the premiere of his son Jessie Scavo’s film The Fake. He posted photos from the evening on Twitter, saying he had a great time with his girlfriend and kids. “Good night, my son @JesseKove and I celebrate the new movie #FakeNews with my girlfriend Mary,” he posted. In October 2017, he revealed to the public that his boyfriend was visiting him in Washington while he was filming in New York with Danny Trejo.
He posted photos from the trip on Twitter and said it was great to be with her. Such mentions and announcements lasted until 2019, then they disappeared in 2020 and 2021. From 1981 to 2005, Kove was married to New Zealand actress Viviene Kove. He and his ex-wife have two children, twins Jesse Morgan and Rachel Olivia. Jesse and Rachel followed in his footsteps in Hollywood and became performers. In Cobra Kai, Jesse plays the younger version of John Kresse from Kove.
Only Jesse continued to be in the acting business. Rachel has changed careers and is now the CEO of Transformational Solutions and a qualified life coach. Her father seems to have accepted her job change. “He taught me to never give up on my aspirations,” she told Cliche Mag, describing her father as one of the “most ruthless people” she had ever met.
