Connery, Tony Bennett and McCallum. I felt the same as Steve McQueen in this photo of The big escape: Wow! It’s David McCallum! Nobody did it better.”
Michael added: “We were lucky he brought us Ducky. Let’s send all the love in the world to his beautiful family. Rest in peace David.”

Brian, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer on the hit CBS series, had a lot more to say about David, as he shared a lot of screen time with the actor.
“I was hired to work one day on the show, but David and I got along well. Our scene turned out well and I was invited back for more scenes with this screen legend. Several more,” Brian says. “Over the course of the next 20 years, David and I (along with Ducky and Jimmy, our alter egos) developed a deep friendship and love for our shared work. It was a pleasure to work with him. He always had a smile. I always had something new to add to the page and ALWAYS had the ability to steal every scene I was in!
He concluded his extensive post: “Thank you David. I love you my friend. I will miss you.”
Mark also made a rare statement about David and shared it with TVLine.
“David lived a great, full, long life,” he shared. “I was amazed when I first met him and all of us on the show were honored to have made a mark in front of him. My deepest condolences to Katherine and her family.”
