Mansi Joshi is an Indian cricketer who plays as a bowler for the India women’s national cricket team. She represents Haryana in domestic cricket. In 2023, she was signed up by franchise team Gujarat Giants for the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Mansi Joshi was born on Wednesday, 18 August 1993 (age 29 years; as in 2022) in Tehri, Uttarakhand. His early childhood was spent in his maternal grandmother’s house in Tehri. She was fond of cricket since the age of 9 and grew up playing the game with her friends in her neighbourhood. When she was in Class 3, she moved to Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand after her mother was posted there. When Mansi was in class 6, she and her mother moved to Roorkee, Punjab. There, one of his acquaintances recognized his passion for sports and suggested him to enroll in St. Xavier’s Academy, Roorkee. At that time, Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was also training in the same academy. Her cricket journey began at the age of 16 when she attended the Haryana Cricket Association trials, where she was selected in the state’s under-19 team. In the same year, she also played for the state senior team. She was in 10th class at that time. His tenth class board exams were clashing with his cricket matches for Haryana; Therefore, he left his school. As a result, he studied 10th and 12th class from a private institution. Talking about the beginning of his cricket journey in an interview, he said,

When I was 9 years old, I remember playing cricket with my colony friends and cousins. Since then my interest in cricket started increasing. My early days were difficult and challenging due to lack of cricket knowledge and practice. I once participated in the trials in Haryana Cricket Association where I was selected in the senior women’s state team under-19. This was my first attempt. After this I never looked back and soon started my professional cricket training and practice.”

One day, she went to her friend’s place in Dehradun to play a practice match, where she got acquainted with Virendra Singh Rautela at St. Joseph’s Cricket Academy. Rautela suggested Mansi to go to Dehradun for better training. Subsequently, his mother got her job transferred to Uttarkashi; Meanwhile, Mansi stayed with her aunt in Dehradun and trained under coach Rautela at St. Joseph’s Cricket Academy. She lived with her aunt for two years. After the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup, her mother quit her job and moved to Dehradun to live with Mansi, while her father continued to work in Uttarkashi.

At the age of 16, he represented Haryana for the first time in the U19 category in domestic cricket. Additionally, she has represented the North Zone women’s cricket team (2010/11–2016/17) and India Blue (2013/14–2018/19). In the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge, she played for the IPL Supernovas, who defeated IPL Velocity by 4 runs in the final.

He was named in India’s squad for the T20I component of the three-match T20I series against the West Indies during the tour of India in November 2016. He was not selected in any of his team’s matches in that series. On 26 November 2016, she made her T20 debut against Bangladesh Women at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground, Bangkok during the 2016 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup. In his first T20I, he took scores of 1/8 and in his second game against Thailand, in which he took 2/8, he won the Player of the Match award; That game did not have T20I status. She made her ODI debut on 10 February 2017 in the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier against Ireland at P Sara Oval, Colombo. She was part of the Mithali Raj-led Indian team that finished runners-up at the 2017 Women’s World Cup; England won by nine runs. Mansi took two wickets against arch-rivals Pakistan in the World Cup. After the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup, she suffered a knee injury which kept her out for over a year. Subsequently, he was named in the ODI squad for the tour of Sri Lanka. In October 2018, she was named in India’s squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, held in the West Indies. In the 3rd ODI during the South Africa Women tour of India (2019-20) at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara, Manasi Joshi took a brilliant catch to dismiss Nondumiso Shangase. Interestingly, the ball first hit bowler Ekta Bisht and then, it was deflected towards mid-off, where Joshi made brilliant efforts to catch the ball.     Since I was a child, I used to watch cricket and used to remain glued to the screen whenever I saw Shoaib Akhtar bowling. The way he marked his run-up and his style of running great distances to deliver his ball enthralled me. Seeing him bowling at fast pace, I was inspired to bowl like him.
