Luke Bell (1990–2022) was an American country musician and singer-songwriter, best known for the crowd-pulling songs Where or Been? (2017), The Bullfighter, and Jealous Guy (2021). Luke Bell was found dead in Tucson, Arizona on August 29, 2022, after disappearing on August 20, 2022.

Luke Bell was born on January 27, 1990 (age 32 years; as of 2022), in Lexington, Kentucky, U.S. He moved to Wyoming with his family when he was 2 years old. He attended Cody High School, from which he graduated in 2008. A native of Cody, Wyoming, Bell attended college in Laramie for a few years before becoming interested in music. He began playing music in a local bar during his college years, where he met singer-songwriter Pat Reedy. In an interview he talked about the beginning of his musical journey and said,

I went there for a few years, and just attended some classes and a lot of parties…I just started playing music. There’s a bar called the Buckhorn in Laramie, and there was a great community of people there, and I formed a little band. That was the first kind of band thing that I had, and I did that for a while. I was having fun but I don’t know, I just dropped out and went away.”

Music led him to spend some time in Tennessee, Texas, and Louisiana. He moved to Austin in 2011 and formed a rock and roll band called ‘Fast Luke and the Lead Heavy’, which occasionally performed at the Hole in the Wall bar near the University of Texas campus. When I first went there it was $1.50 High Life at the Hole in the Wall on Monday nights, and there was Mike and the Moonpies, Leo Rondeau and Ramsey Midwood, and I was living on a couch on the premises and walking there. After winning Best Honky Tonk Male at the Dale Watson Ameripolitan Awards in 2018, Luke Bell virtually disappeared from the public eye due to bipolar disorder.
