In spite of love after lock Couple Brittany Dodd and Marcelino Santiago face many challenges and they show how close they are to each other on the show. Recently, many positive changes have taken place in their lives. So take a look and see what they are up to now.
Many fans know that Brittany had a difficult childhood. At the age of 12, she had to leave her abusive home. At the age of 15, she became pregnant, but because of her carelessness, her two children were adopted by CPS. At the age of 18, she was arrested for the first time and spent 5 years in prison for this crime. She was released from prison in 2013 but was arrested again in 2017 for conspiracy to rob. But since appearing on the show, her life seems to be heading in the right direction.
She and her husband, Marcelino, live happily ever after and have just welcomed their second child. They have no plans to further develop the family but seek to help other ex-convicts. Marcelino reveals they’ve done a ‘good job’ since filming the previous season love after lock. After their second child was born, the couple decided to remodel and “build small” their house. Brittany has also published her memoir, “A Woman’s Journey: Surviving the Streets,” now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle form, Soapdirt reported. Talking about the writing process, the former inmate said she wanted to be “as profound, honest and transparent as possible” in sharing her struggles. To do that, she had to “relive those moments”. But she does it to “help others” through her own experience. Her fans will be pleased to know that she also plans to sign books in September. Check out her book covers below:
Marcelino and Brittany have also collaborated with We TV on a series about quarantine, this time viewers will see them doing normal things at home. It may also include Brittany’s weight loss journey, as she has lost a significant amount of weight during the lockdown.
The couple is also actively working with several business partners to set up inpatient/outpatient facilities. While serving her sentence, Brittany often helped fellow prisoners organize support groups. During that time, she became interested in meditation and exercise, which eventually allowed her to “introspect”. With the inpatient/outpatient facility, they will focus on more than just those who have just been released from prison. But also focus on areas such as reintegration, job training, education, homelessness and mental health.
