Lisa Leslie was born in Compton, California, on July 7, 1972. She was the daughter of Christine Lauren Leslie and Walter Leslie. Her father was a former professional basketball player. Her mother has her own truck driving business. She has two sisters, Dionne and Tiffany, and a brother, Elgin.
Lisa had a difficult childhood since her father left the family when her mother was 4 months pregnant with her. So her mother started her own truck driving business to support the family.
