Michelle Mylett and Lisa Codrington in Letterkenny Part 11

Screen Rant: Nice to chat with you again alphabetI love that the opening episode is about breaking the flavor of chips, I think it’s an argument I don’t think any show has ever dealt with this seriously. We’ll start with Lisa and then Michelle, how do you feel about this compilation of the bottle you’re arguing about?

Lisa Codrington: Very interesting, very good, like I take my chips very seriously. I love french fries, so I’m here to have a really serious and silly debate about what the best flavor of french fries is. I completely understand, no one asked, “How was it? Why would anyone want to eat french fries?” I said, “Here I am. I see. No need to work, let’s talk about chips.” [I’ve got] Strong emotions, too.

Michelle Mylett: Yeah, it’s nice to be together all day, it’s weird, it’s the most emotional we’ve ever seen between Letterkenny’s characters, and those are the chips, but I think that’s also is a real Canadian thing. We have a lot of crazy fries flavors here and we take pride in our fries, which sounds sad but I think it’s true. It was a really fun day, like filming. We had a lot of extras in it, and it was so overwhelming, I think I cried a few times as I grabbed the dill pickles. So we actually went there.

Lisa Codrington: That’s amazing, tearing up dill pickles. That moment was so beautiful. Big tears.

Now, are you passionate about real-life dill fries or do you have another flavor that you particularly like?

Michelle Mylett: I may not cry over dill pickles, but dill pickles are my favorite french fries and Jared knows it. So I think that’s why he graciously gave it to me.

Lisa Codrington: I’m pretty basic and my favorite chips are like regular ripples, but more like a concentrated salt. It can’t be simple salt ripple, it has to be like full salt.

At that point, you might not even have a chip, right?

Lisa Codrington: Yes, we only eat potatoes!

Taylor Johnston and Evan Stern in Letterkenny

Like you mentioned, Michelle, it’s great to see everyone getting together in that scene, one of the things I’ve always found interesting about large group shots is that I’m curious if any of the actors in the whole team, is it each person? someone else or someone that you always have a hard time making a scene with just because they’re so good at letting you down?

Michelle Mylett: For me, it’s skating, it’s Tyler and Evan’s energy, I just think they’re stupid and their choreography. Just get to know them well, how much time they spend together, their personal motivations and their on-screen motivations are very similar. They just pissed me off.

Lisa Codrington: I agree, I think that’s also a hindrance for me. Their survival choreography is hilarious and ridiculous, and you never know what will happen after each shot. It always goes up. I also think Glenn is so wild and ridiculous, you never know what will happen. I think they are real people [get me], and a small coach. A lot of people really think about it. [Laughs]

Michelle Mylet: Jim Dickens, he made me [crack up].

Lisa Codrington: Jim Dickens too, yes.

I just spoke to Tyler and Evan, and they said that Alex would even improvise at the beginning and end of Jim Dickens scenes. Did you both get a chance to do that during the off-season? Is there a moment when you especially enjoyed improvising a character?

Michelle Mylett: It was a very well written show because the pacing was so specific that most of the time we were stuck on the page. That is, when we rehearse, there are opportunities to play or come up with ideas. Sometimes it is included, sometimes it works, sometimes not. I think jim Dickens is great [for that], since he bids a lot of time, he can be as crazy as he wants, which works in that situation. But when you go back and forth so fast, and it’s so rhythm-dependent, almost as monotonous as Letterkenny, then you can’t really leave because it’s going to drive everyone else crazy. So yes, even though there were times when people came up with ideas and they got involved, we needed to rehearse 9 times out of 10.

Lisa Codrington: I agree, I can’t really think of a single moment that I’m proud of, I think a lot of times it could be something physical, looks, or something like that, that something new and something changed. But in my experience, the dialogue is pretty much fixed on the page as well.

Like both of you said, it seems like a very meticulous writing pace, but I’m glad you at least got the chance to have a little freedom here and there to write something. .

Michelle Mylett: At this point, Lisa and I are really — I forget why we’re doing this, what are we doing?

Lisa Codrington: I don’t even remember, but we…

Michelle Mylett: We had worked together for a season before and I was like, “Oh my god, we should celebrate our win, or something like that handshake from The Parent Trap.” So we did the Handshake, we were all like kids, we said, “Jacob, can we do this?” .

Lisa Codrington: We worked really hard on this, we really put in our best, so I’m glad it worked.

Great, it’s not easy to recreate such a handshake.

Michelle Mylett: Work hard and you can too.

Lisa Codrington: Yes. It’s true, have to put work into it.

I know Jim Dickens and Gale were an item for a while, and I know it was mentioned in the leaked nude episode, but Lisa, what do you think happened to Gale and Dickens? Do you think they are still the same or do you think they are exploring different paths at this point?

Lisa Codrington: I think both are different. I think Gail always said, “Look, I’m happy to be here, but I’m also happy to be here.” She’s doing her thing, she’s got a lot of options she’s investigating, and I think you can always keep hope for Jim and Gail. But, I don’t think, like Jim said, he would never do it. But, who knows, will they get back together, maybe not, I just think Gail has a lot of people she needs around, so he’s not the only one.

Michelle Mylett: I love Gale and Jim together.

Lisa Codrington: I know, it’s sweet.

Michelle Mylett: I think he banned you, or Gail wasn’t allowed. [Chuckles]

Lisa Codrington: I’m not Gale, we’re not our characters. [Laughs]

When they first became a couple, I thought, “Oh, that’s a really good couple”, so I hope to see more of them in the future. By the way, we usually don’t hear about renewals until you’re halfway through. Are there multiple volumes in the works?

Michelle Mylett: I don’t know what we can say, to be honest, we just finished filming in October. But yeah, I don’t know what I can say. [Laughs]

Lisa Codrington: Yes, we finished filming in October. [Laughs]

Michelle Mylett: Also, we don’t know what happened.

and with have a horseWith season 2 already announced, do you guys want to check out his show and see what he and his new characters do in the North?

Michelle Mylett: Yes, I would love to visit our friends there. I think Tiio is a producer on it, the director of Jacob and Jonathan Torrens is also involved, and obviously Jared Keeso, so it was nice to visit them. But yeah, I don’t know if those two worlds are in conflict, I’m not so sure about that show.

Lisa Codrington: Yes, I [feel] Likewise, who knows how far Sudbury is from Letterkenny. Can Letterkenny go there, is there a bus? who knows? But of course, yes, I want to keep watching that show and see all the interesting similarities and differences they’re showing, I’m always curious and interested.
