Days after Emma Stone won the Best Actress award at the 2024 Oscars, Lily Gladstone broke her silence.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Flower Moon Killers The star thanked those who continue to support her and her acting career. “Today I feel the love in a big way,” Gladstone wrote. “Especially from Indian country. Kittō”kuniikaakomimmō”po’waw – seriously, I love you all.”
Despite not winning Best Actress, Lily Gladstone jokingly added that she made sure to do something to the iconic Oscar statue.
“You better believe that when I walked out of the Dolby Theater and walked past the big Oscar statue, I gave that golden boot a little smack. Count: one,” he wrote with a winking emoji.

Although she didn’t win the Oscar, Lily Gladstone’s hard work has been recognized. She won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture at the 2024 Golden Globes last month. She was also considered the first Native American to win the award and be nominated for an Academy Award.
Lily Gladstone won Best Actress at other awards events. This includes awards from the Online Film Critics Society and Southeastern Film Critics. Gladstone also received the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Lily Gladstone said her Oscar nomination was ‘overdue’
Just before the 2024 Oscars, Lily Gladstone spoke with The New Yorker about his exciting and historic nomination.
“I keep saying that it was already necessary,” he explained. “We are in the ninety-sixth year of the Academy Awards and we are on Native American land. Natives are natural storytellers. A large part of our understanding of ourselves, since time immemorial, is our stories. “
Lily Gladstone also noted that it was “strange” that in the United States it has taken almost 100 years for a Native American to reach the milestone in a major acting category.
“We have had indigenous representation. We have had Yalitza Aparicio, Graham Greene [Dances with Wolves] in support, Chief Dan George [Little Big Man] in supporting.”
He then declared: “We have had global indigenous recognition.”
Gladstone added that while she is the first specifically Native American indigenous woman to be nominated for the award, she is also a supporter of many artists.
“It is all circumstantial that I have this nickname of the first, and I certainly will not be the last. “If I’ve kicked the door in, I just try to stay here and leave it open for everyone else.”
