Lee Sang-yoon (1977–2023) was a South Korean soprano singer. In 2023, she was found dead in her bathroom, minutes before her performance, at the age of 43.

Lee Sang-yoon was born in 1977 (age 46 at the time of death) in South Korea. He attended Seoul Arts High School. He graduated from Seoul National University. Later, he earned a master’s degree from the Mannes School of Music in New York.

Death
On 6 July 2023, she was found dead in the bathroom. They were invited to perform at the 33rd regular concert of the Gimcheon Municipal Choir, a joint concert with the Mokpo Municipal Choir. When it was time for her performance and she did not attend, an event staffer went looking for her and found her body in the women’s bathroom on the third floor of the concert venue. The event staff talked about this in an interview and said,
It was time for Lee Sang Eun to go on stage, but she was not backstage. When I looked in the bathroom, she was lying on the floor.”
According to sources, the police investigated the incident; However, he did not suspect any foul play.

- Lee Sang-yoon was popular for her soprano singing voice.
- In 2022, he presented a recital at the Kumho Art Hall Yonsei in Seoul.
- Before her demise, the singer had given a scheduled performance of ‘Carmina Burana’, a vocal composition, at the Grand Hall of the Gimcheon Culture and Art Centre. The performance was part of a commemorative event for cultural exchange between England and Honam.
