Laura Benanti, an American actress, and her husband Patrick Brown have announced the birth of their second child via surrogacy, bringing their family to four. On July 9, the 42-year-old actress shared photos of her newborn baby Louise Georgie Benanti-Brown on Instagram. She added that the family had a few problems growing up and appreciated her “angel on earth” surrogate for her “generosity of spirit, body and compassion that can never be returned.” Ella, Laura and Benanti’s eldest daughter, is shown holding her baby sister’s hand in the first photo. Patrick Brown and Laura Benanti have been happily married for many years.
The younger actress and Patrick Brown married in November 2015, five months after announcing their engagement on Brown’s Instagram profile. Brown, who uploaded a stack of photos, began with a close-up of the couple’s engagement rings. In another post, Brown captioned a monochrome photo of Laura taken from the side:
“She married me today. I am so delighted! #Get down with Mr. and Mrs. Brown.”
They were married in New York at the Riverside Church in Harlem. Celebrities such as Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Connie Britton attended the wedding. The Supergirl actress was hesitant to post photos from her wedding on social media, but she claimed that when her husband proposed to her, he said: “He never thinks less of you [Laura].” Laura Benanti told W magazine in 2016 that the event was very romantic for her because she felt appreciated and noticed.

Ella, the couple’s first child, was born on February 24, 2017. Laura Benanti was married twice before she met Patrick Brown. In 2005, she married Chris Barron, the frontman of the rock group Spin Doctor. The relationship lasted a year. She married actor Steven Pasquale in 2007. The couple was married for almost six years before divorcing in 2013.
