Larry Brown is an American basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Memphis Tigers. Larry Brown is the only coach in basketball history to win an NBA title and an NCAA national championship.

Larry Brown was born on September 14, 1940, under the name of Lawrence Harvey Brown. From now on, he is 82 years He is Jewish and his birthplace is Brooklyn, New York. His maternal grandfather named Hittelman was from Minsk, Belarus.

A star player for the Tar Heels in the early 1960s, Larry was considered too young to play in the NBA. He began his post-college career with the NABL’s Akron Wingfoots, where he played for 2 years (1964-1965).
In addition, he led the Wingfoots to the 1964 AAU National Championship. Later, he was chosen for Team USA’s 1964 Summer Olympics team, which won the gold medal.
After a brief stint as an assistant coach at North Carolina, this player joined the upstart American Basketball Association, playing with the Oakland Oaks, New Orleans Buccaneers, Washington Caps, Virginia Squires, and Denver Rockets.
In 1968, he was named the MVP of the first ABA All-Star Game and was named to the All-ABA Second Team the same year. However, he led the ABA in assists per game through the league’s first three seasons.
Later, when his playing career ended, Larry was the ABA’s all-time assist leader. His total of 2,509 assists ranks him seventh on the ABA career list. He therefore holds the ABA record for assists in a game with 23. Therefore, he was a three-time ABA All-Star.
