Lainey Wilson Opens Up About Her Acting Debut In yellow stone.
The 30-year-old country hitmaker was cast as Abby on Paramount’s hit western drama for season five and in a new podcast, she revealed she actually almost walked out.

While chatting on the Dutton Rules podcast, Lainey says she almost left because of a personal matter: her father.
Lainey shared that while everything was going well for her pro, “personally, man. My family and I were really going through it.”
“In the middle of filming yellow stone, my dad was in the hospital. And he was in the ICU,” he recalled. “He spent two months in ICU in Houston, fighting for his life; the doctors told us that he won’t make it, there’s a big chance he won’t make it.”
Lainey’s father, Brian (who isn’t famous for the Beach Boys), was battling a yeast infection that led to a stroke and ultimately the loss of his left eye.
The thing that really got her going again was actually her father.
“He woke up just in time before I had really made up my mind and said, ‘I don’t care if it was my funeral, if you have a job to do, you better do it and don’t come.’ back.’ until I’m done,’” Lainey shared. “I had to pull my boots up.”
After returning to the set, Lainey shared that many cast members were constantly checking up on her and her father.
“Every day we were on set they wanted updates on, ‘How’s your dad? we’re praying. We’re lifting it up,’” she says. “All the people reached out to me and loved me as much as they could. That’s really, I think, what also gave me the strength to keep going.”
