Lady Gaga is keeping Tony Bennett on her mind on what would have been his 97th birthday.
The jazz icon passed away in late July, leaving many in the music industry and beyond mourning his loss.
Gaga, who collaborated with Tony on 2014′s Cheek to Cheek and 2021′s Love for Sale, took to social media to pen an emotional tribute to her close friend.
On Thursday (August 3), she made it clear that she would not be forgetting his birthday.

Taking to Instagram, Gaga shared several photos of herself dressed in a resplendent black dress and posing next to a food truck on the street.
“Happy Birthday Tony. August 3rd is Tony Bennett Day. A day for smiling,” she wrote. “But I’ll be celebrating you a lot more than once a year. I’ll celebrate you every time I’m on stage singing jazz music, every time I’m with your family, every time I walk down the streets of New York I’ll look around and remember all you did for this city and the whole world.”
The hitmaker signed off with a kiss emoji. Of course, she’ll have plenty of reason to keep Tony on her mind in the coming months after sharing some big news this week.
