Kishori Ballal was born in 1937 (age 82 at the time of death) in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka.

She was married to Bharatnatyam dancer N Sripati Ballal, who belonged to the Bunt community. N Sripati Ballal is a resident of Mangalore. The couple married in 1950.
livelihood
Kishori Ballal and her husband took acting training from Dr. Shiv Ram Karanth and Vaisharya Ballal. Later, she worked in an advertisement produced under ‘Durga Khote Productions’. In 1960, she debuted in the Kannada film ‘Evelantha Hendathi’. He acted in various theater plays in the 1970s, which were also later translated into Kannada.
He acted in films in various languages including Marathi, Kannada, Hindi, Tulu and Konkani. In his 15-year career, he worked in more than 70 films. Some of his popular films include Ek Alag Mausam (2003), Quick Gun Murugun (2003), Ambari (2009), Kempe Gowda (2011), Bombay Mittai (2015), and Kahi (2016).
She is also known for her notable performances in some Bollywood films, such as Swades (2004), Lafangey Parindey (2010), and Aiya (2012).
She gained immense popularity with the role of ‘Kaveri Amma’ in the 2004 film Swades.
She acted in various TV serials including ‘Amritvarshini’, which aired in 2012 and became one of the longest running TV serials in the Kannada language.
Death
He died of respiratory infection at Sevakshetra Hospital in Bengaluru on 18 February 2020.
