Early life and childhood
Kevin Ninh was born on May 6, 1996 in Kirkland, Washington. As of 2024 he turns 27 years old and his zodiac sign is Taurus. He has a younger sister named Christina Ninh. Furthermore, he also has a twin brother and has featured him in several of his YouTube videos.
Ninh graduated early with a double major and retired in June. Also, as a teenager, he used to practice guitar and piano and write songs about children for hours on end. He has also written several short novels.

Before forming his main YouTube channel ‘FlawlessKevin’, he registered on YouTube under the channel name xHeyItsKevinx in July 2010. The channel would become his secondary vlogging channel. In September 2012, she created a singer-songwriter channel. Additionally, she stated in ’13 Facts About Me!’ video that Taylor Swift is her beloved and favorite musical artist.

When I was a freshman in college, I knew I was gay. Ninh shopped for clothes in the women’s section, but he didn’t know how to name or frame his burgeoning gender identity. However, his cheerful personality helped him land a job as an orientation leader the summer before his sophomore year. At an employee retreat, he shared a room with a trans coworker. “I had a lot of questions for him because I had never met anyone from the trans community,” Ninh says. “He gave me the term non-binary, which I identify with.”
Being non-binary means that you do not feel exclusively male or female. However, you may feel both, in-between, or neither. Ninh is comfortable with his biological sex (which is why he sticks with the pronouns “he” and “him,” and why the first words on his Instagram page are “Yes, I’m a boy”). But he doesn’t feel comfortable presenting himself as strictly masculine. “I never feel or want to be one gender or another,” he says. “I wake up every day feeling out of the ordinary.”
When he enrolled at the University of Washington Bothell in 2014, thousands of online fans knew him as “Flawless Kevin,” a fast-talking, colorfully dressed YouTuber who starred in more than 100 videos about teenage insecurity and LGBTQ issues. Also, making people smile was easy for Ninh, but over the next four years, he learned that social media could also be a way to educate and empower his fans, and to find himself.
In her second year, Ninh sought classes in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. “Not just to learn about society,” she says, “but to learn about myself.” She now uses her platform to share academic and everyday concepts about gender and identity with people around the world. The New York Times even tracked him down for an article titled “His Eye Makeup Is Way Better Than Yours.”

On May 17, International Day Against Homophobia, Ninh posted this message to her Instagram followers: “I want to assure everyone that my page will always be a safe space full of acceptance and love. “We are all here for each other.” And in her comments, a young woman said that she had recently told her family that she was bisexual. “If they love you, they won’t care who you love,” she wrote. “Thank you Kevin for giving me the strength to get out!”
“For a long time I didn’t even know what ‘Flawless Kevin’ meant,” he says. “But after a while, I realized that being perfect doesn’t mean you have no flaws. It means that you have flaws, that you accept them and that you don’t settle. That’s why at the end of each video I say: ‘To be perfect is to be yourself.’”
While he avoids being called an ambassador, it is clear that he is a role model for many of his fans. Not because he speaks for all non-binary people or represents all Asians in the LGBTQ community, but simply because he is living his truth.

Kevin is openly gay. He is not dating anyone at the moment. He has a busy schedule pursuing his career instead of getting into a relationship. However, right now he is mainly focused on his career. He might soon be in a relationship with someone who truly understands him.
