Keke Palmer and her ex Darius Jackson request a delay in the court hearing on the restraining order: here is why

Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson are asking the court to delay a hearing scheduled for next week over the restraining order Keke filed against her ex.

In early November, the 30-year-old actress filed for the restraining order and requested sole custody of their shared son, Leodis. She accused her ex of abusing her and provided photographic evidence of alleged instances of abusive behavior in her court file.

He was temporarily granted both requests and a court date was scheduled for December 5 to discuss next steps.

Now, Keke and Darius would like the court to postpone that hearing for a reason.

In court documents obtained by People, the couple requested time to attend mediation before returning to court.

The documents ask that the court “give the parties time to attend the mediation. The parties request that the Mediation and the petitioner’s DVRO [domestic order restraining order] will continue until a mutually acceptable date.”

Additionally, the restraining order and custody agreement “shall remain in full force and effect” as long as they do so.

Darius has not directly publicly addressed Keke’s allegations. However, he later shared a message for his son on social media.

There was also evidence that Keke and Darius’ mothers were fighting amid the accusations.

Despite the tense situation, Keke was all smiles when he appeared to present the BET Soul Train Awards 2023 on November 19.
